-
The only FDA approved method of permanent hair removal using different modalities of current; galvanic (lye), thermolysis (heat), & blend, which is a combination, to target the root papilla and stem cells that generate hair growth.
-
Every new client fills out a medical form to list possible contraindications that could affect chosen modality treatment.
I perform a skin & pilosity exam to identify any anomalies, texture, condition, and previous epilated methods.
I conduct a presentation to discuss the electrolysis process, the equipment, expectations, and answer all your questions.
30-minute appointment valued at $60 for FREE.

After treatment I will perform the after care procedure. Applying witch hazel and a soothing lotion to the treated area, cataphoresis will be performed, which will reduce inflammation, restore the natural acidic pH to the skin, close the pores, and aid in the healing process.

To perform electrolysis most effectively, we need to take a look at the three phases of hair growth and why they affect your treatments.
There are three phases of hair growth:
Anagen (active growing phase) the best phase to treat the hair; Catagen (transition phase), Telogen (resting phase)
The hairs treated at your appointment will not be the same hairs that grow in in the coming weeks. It takes the hair about 3 months to grow back in and begin the whole process all over again
-
All stainless-steel hand tools that come in contact with the client during the epilation session to include tweezers, and after care cataphoresis electrodes are fully sterilized in a certified Autoclave. Every new session sterilized hand tools, and probes are used for each client.
After each session all equipment, beds, stool, lights, cabinet are sanitized, and bed and pillow linens changed.

How painful is this?
There is no pain associated with inserting the probe into the hair follicle. You should not feel the probe being inserted into the hair follicle, as the probe is the same diameter as the hair. The probe is inserted to the depth of the hair follicle when the current is then applied. The Galvanic Current and the Blend both feel like a stinging, nagging pain and the High Frequency Current can be a bit sharper at times.
If you wish to purchase lidocaine injections to be administrated by Setiba MedSpa registered nurse to numb the location, or prescribe a lidocaine numbing cream, please just ask for details.
How long are sessions?
Sessions will vary based on the amount of hair you have and your pain tolerance level. The more you are able to tolerate, the more work we can accomplish! Electrolysis is broken down into 15-minute increment sessions. A 15-30-minute session is ideal for smaller areas like chin, eyebrows and upper lip and can be a great starting point to adjust to treatments and find your tolerance level. A 45-60-minute session would be ideal for face, and bodywork sessions. 60-120-minute sessions are great for multiple areas or bodywork sessions such as legs, bikini or brazilian.

It is normal to be red on the treated area and slightly swollen. This generally goes away in about 3-4 hours; however, it can go away much sooner or longer, depending on how your body responds to the electrolysis. You may feel hot to the touch and a little bit sore. Remember, we are destroying tissue, it is very common to be sensitive following your treatments.
Do your best to keep the treated area clean, the first 24 hours are the most important! During this time, your body will naturally purge bacteria from the hair follicle, and during this process, there is a chance you will get little white pimples. This is normal, do your best not to pick at the pimples and allow them to heal. You may also see tiny pinpoint scabs; your body is doing its job to heal up those hair follicles! Please allow those to heal naturally as well to avoid the risk of scarring. The scabs can stay for as little as a week or can last a couple weeks; it really does depend on how your body will heal and over time, it will get used to your electrolysis sessions. Dehydrated skin tends to scab more, and the scabs tend to stay longer.

At the moment I am not a provider for medical insurance. That is something in the future I am trying to obtain.
If you wish to work with me, please reach out to your medical insurance carrier how to proceed.
